Over the next year, my husband and I still have so much to do. We have trips scheduled, property we need to sell, and more furniture and belongings to move up to Valinor Hollow, our house in Western North Carolina. Finding time for myself is getting more complicated. Work is getting busier, and life in general feels like it keeps getting more hectic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the past few months, I\u2019ve been finding it harder and harder to be creative. Part of it is simply not having enough free time, but even when I do finally get a little time to myself, I\u2019m usually tired, unmotivated, or too mentally drained to know where to begin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been frustrating because I want to create. I miss creating. But I keep getting stuck in that awful loop of indecision, lack of motivation, and no real focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This past Sunday, I finally decided to stop overthinking it. I grabbed something from my art studio and just started. I didn\u2019t worry about whether it was the \u201cright\u201d project or if I had a perfect plan. Since I had the whole day free, I sat down with one of the art journal kits I bought from Let\u2019s Make Art years ago and worked my way through it until I had filled several pages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And honestly, it felt wonderful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was fun. It was relaxing. It reminded me how good it feels to make something just for the sake of making it. I\u2019m hoping it helped kick-start my creative mojo again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I know I\u2019ve gone through periods in the past where I stopped creating altogether, and I\u2019m really hoping I can get better at keeping that spark alive, even when life gets busy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
