Work to Live not Live to Work…

Day 3 of getting the 2nd Vaccine shot and we feel 100%, small price to pay to be protected against COVID. I’m also looking forward to this weekend, will be visiting a Fabric superstore and creating some art this weekend.

But for today I am going to need to catch up on a few chores that did not get done in the last few days so I don’t have to worry about them this weekend, I want this weekend to be chore-free so I can work on things that make happy and relax.

I saw a tweet that someone posted about how we need more than 2 days to recover from a workweek and I feel like this is so true. For those of us who work full-time jobs, we spend a minimum of at least 40 hours working a week, and a lot of times you don’t have time to do chores or other tasks until the weekend. You end up working the weekend just trying to catch up on chores so when do we actually get a chance to recover from the week.

And for those folks who work even more than 40 hours a week, getting a chance to recover seems like a pipe dream. We should not be living to work but the other way around. If all we do is work and survive that is not living.

This is why I love working from home, time that would have been wasted commuting to work can be allocated to other chores, I can use my breaks to also catch up on chores and on quieter work days I can try to catch up also on other tasks. My goal each week is to try to stay on top of my chores so when the weekend comes that time is mine.
