Being Creative

The Quest to Become an Elvan Queen and Other Projects

Today I am updating on a few of my creative projects and going to talk about some new ones I have coming up.

The first and most exciting is I finally finished my Lady Galadriel costume, it came out amazing, and thanks to some friends who help me make the final adjustments to it as I can’t really pin it while wearing it. I did a trial run over the weekend and realized the wig I had that I planned on using for this outfit was not going to work at all so I ordered a new one that arrived yesterday and I am very pleased with how it came out.

You’ll have to excuse my face, I’m still getting over a bit of a cold plus I was not wearing any makeup.

I still have a lot of Table Top Miniatures and Terrain that I need to paint in the next month or so but if I really put my focus in it I should have what I need to be painted and ready to go in a week or so. I am hoping this upcoming campaign will have a combination of flat maps and 3D terrain to hopefully simplify a few things.

I also have another exciting project that I’m going to start, those who know me well know that I am a go big or go home kind of person, when I start something I place all my time and energy to it until it’s done. A good example of this is a dining set refurbishment I did last year. I completed it in 2 days (Which in hindsight was not a good idea).

This next project though will not be completed in 2 days or not even in 2 months, and possibly not even this year but either way, I am very excited to get started and I have already begun to do research into this project and have found kindred spirits who have already created one or are also in the process of making one.

I plan on making a scaled-down version of the SG1 series Stargate, I believe I have settled on an 8-foot diameter so we can keep it in the house. I’m in the process of figuring out all of the details including the frame that I will need to make. I will also be utilizing my 3D printer to create some of the finer details of the Stargate. I had not used my 3D printer in a few years so this week I pulled it out and tested that everything was still functioning properly.

Here is a test print I completed this week, any guesses as to what it is?
