Days like today are rare, rainy days in Florida usually mean the rain comes and goes throughout the day. But today is one of those rainy days we have not seen in a while, it’s a day of non-stop rain, the intensity of the rain wanes from downpour to just a sprinkle and then back again but it does not stop in the entire day.

I absolutely love days like this and the only thing that would have made it even more perfect was if it had not taken place during a workday. No going out walking today, wearing my fuzzy flannel pants and bunny slippers while watching it gently rain outside.

To add to this already wonderfully gloomy day will be a pot of homemade chicken soup for dinner and ice cream for dessert. It is Friday and we have great things to look forward to this weekend and things to celebrate.

Rare days like today where it never stops raining make me feel so relaxed and cozy. All I can think about is just cocooning myself under the covers with a puppy in my lap with a hot cup of tea or hot cocoa. While most folks hate gloomy days like this it really brings me much joy and happiness.

It’s not just the rain either, it’s the dimness of the day as the dark clouds cast a blanket over us. It makes me feel of the twilight time, that time for me after dinner and before bed when the sun sets and we begin to settle in for the evening to relax and wind down. Imagine having that sensation the entire day.
