The Quest to Build a Stargate…Back On Track

Today I poured resin into the molds I made on Monday, I’ll be able to pour another set tomorrow and I’m hoping I will have time on Friday as well. By Saturday morning I should have finished casting all the 3D elements that I needed to complete.

Today I also started building the frame that will help me to actually allow the Stargate to stand on its own. I am pleased that even with the 3D elements attached each Stargate section is light enough to be picked up with one arm. Overall it will be pretty light weight.

As far as timelines go at the rate it’s currently coming together the gate should be done in the next few weeks, at the most by the end of April, only potential I see now for further delays is in dealing with the electrical and the programming as I’ve never done that before and I will be something new I will be learning.

What do I have left to do?

  • Finish attaching 3D elements and finish making the frame.
  • Seal and Paint the gate.
  • Add electrical elements to the gate and add 3D transpartent elements to the Chevrons.
  • And Finally program the gate to dial out.
