Wow, I have not blogged since the 5th, to be honest, I have not forgotten to blog it’s just that I’ve had so much going on at the moment that it’s been difficult to fit this in.
Even now I’m typing this from a hotel in St. Louis where my husband and I had to travel to for a short business trip for him. I tagged along because we all know how attached at the hip I am to him.
this is the 2nd trip we’ve taken this month with the first one being a cruise that was more active and not as restful as I would have liked. Adding to that we had three straight football home games we attended, new projects we started, and day jobs getting really busy. For both of us, it has felt like we have been going non-stop for months now and we still have events and another trip coming up in November.
Although the November trip should be much more relaxing I am looking forward to the fact that we have no plans for December, no parties, no trips, and work should hopefully quiet down.
My husband and I discussed this over dinner last night and we made a promise that in December we are going to try to make an effort to slow down a little. Once the Christmas decorations are out we will take time to enjoy them and make time for ourselves and for each other, not to start new projects or catch up but to take time to enjoy sitting in our library and reading while we enjoy the twinkling lights on the tree.
It would be great to feel like we always have to be working on something rather than just taking some time to sit and enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of hot cocoa. The things we are working on will always still be there waiting for us when are ready.
And yes I am fully aware this post is about Christmas and it’s not even Halloween yet, what I say to that is whatever makes us happy.
