I completed my first big project of 2020 and I am so pleased with how this came out as it ended up better then I could imagine. I love the world of Middle Earth and being able to bring a small piece of it to life has brought me so much joy and what a fantastic way to get back into crafting.
A little background on this project, last year we attended the last Wholanta in Atlanta, GA. There was a vendor who was selling etched glass items called Etched in Nerd. I bought some amazing jars from her. The set included a larger jar with the map of the Lonely Mountain on it and the smaller jar was etched with the language that is found on the one ring. My hubby knew I wanted it but argued that we did not have room for it in the house and said if I can come up with a good idea on what to do with it he would allow me to get it.
After I slept on it I came up with the amazing idea of using the larger jar to create a Hobbit Diorama and use the smaller jar to keep homemade Lembas bread. When I told my hubby about my idea he was very enthusiastic. Thankfully the jars were still available for sale by the next morning.
Fast forward now 9 months I finally found the time and space to tackle this craft project. I found a little fairy house hobbit hole on Etsy and some Hobbit tabletop miniatures on amazon. I collected the rest of my supplies from craft stores and so it began. from creating the scene in the jar to individually painting each miniature.
