Setting up goals is easy, following through with them is easier said than done. Instead of goals this year I am setting up Quests!
Why not turn my goals into adventures, great adventures where I grow as a Hero, defeat the shadows that plague me, and save the Kingdom. I know some of my Quests will be attainable this coming year while other quests will take a much longer journey, so here’s to the New Year! Huzzah!
So now on to my Quests! Keep in mind I will be doing my own deep dive into these quests and flushing them out more but for the sake of this exercise, I’m keeping it a little broader.
The first quest is to find and defeat the Shadow that plagues me, something is casting spells on me that result in feelings of dread and melancholy. I must discover the sources of these enchantments and increase my skills to ward off these negative effects.
The second quest is to improve on my crafting skills, as a Hero, I am sometimes called upon to create things for my fellow adventurers. Be it a piece of art to decorate their castles, creating something that can cast the spell of joy and happiness, or cook something that is nourishing to our bodies. I want to learn new techniques and work in new mediums to create wonders.
The third quest is to simplify my life by means of divesting unwanted treasures, pay back the dragon hordes, and one day have the castle of my dreams.
What quests are you setting out to complete this year? I feel like even though I have grown so much in the last few years I have also realized that life isn’t perfect and until my days of questing are over there will always be room to grow.
As per my previous post for this year’s Happiness Journey, I am utilizing a gift I received for Christmas called a Hero’s Journal which takes a different approach to identify and follow through with your goals – if you want your own Hero’s Journal please visit their site at https://theherosjournal.co
