Happiness

It’s the Most Saddest Time of the Year!

Wait is that not how the song goes?

It’s after the holidays, we put away the Christmas decorations, the days still feel darker and the cold weather is settling in. It’s the time when most of us feel a little melancholic.

Now is the time to really focus on the things in our lives that bring us the most joy and happiness so that we can overcome those winter blues. Make a hot cup of cocoa or tea, cuddle with a warm blanket while you binge your favorite TV Show, or curl up and lose yourself in a good book.

It is a time to slow down, take time to enjoy yourself. Learn to relax. We live in a society that never stops, a world where we are taught to rush and always be useful. We need to remember to leave time for ourselves, if we give to much of ourselves we risk our own mental health.

What brought me happiness today was the 46-degree weather this morning and walking around the neighborhood with my husband, this is our time to be away from the house and be ourselves. To be able to chat and catch up on things. Sometimes we discuss the news and other times we just discuss our personal lives. it’s all about staying connected and listening to each other.

I feel so much anticipation for this coming year for I have so many things I want to accomplish and there are also so many things to look forward to. Some of the things I’m going to try to tackle this year and try out new recipes and new forms of art. So I will leave you all on this cold winter day with a recipe I found for the most amazing Hot Cocoa.
