One of my all-time favorite movies and television series is Stargate. Even though the movie and some of the show was from the ’90s this is one of those shows like Star Trek and Star Wars that will always stand the test of time.

I have always been fascinated with the Egyptian culture since I was a child and when the film first premiered I was in awe, here was a film based on ancient Egypt but let’s also include science fiction and fantasy.

This was a show that I think revitalized Science Fiction, the series first started on the Starz channel and eventually moved to the Science Fiction channel which for the ’90s and early ’00s I practically lived on that channel, the series spawned some other great shows like Stargate Atlantis, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, The Expanse and also Eureka.

Even though Star Trek and Doctor Who have been around since before I was born for many decades there were not as many Science Fiction shows growing up. And then Star Trek the Next Generation was released and with it Stargate my love for all things science fiction grew.

Being able to geek out about my favorite science fiction shows and being able to share my love for these shows is one of my greatest joys in life, especially when you share them with people who love them just as much as you do.
