The Quest to Relax After a Busy and Exhausting Weekend

After a busy couple of days, it was really nice to have the day off today. We were so exhausted by the time we arrived home yesterday I only had just enough energy to eat dinner and take a shower before going to bed and passing out.

Today we had no plans, no need to go out anywhere, and no tasks that had to immediately get done today so we decided to take the day and just relax and do things that make us happy. My husband is spending the day reading football articles, rewatching yesterday’s game and he will be watching football later tonight.

As for me, I have been spending the day playing my video game, watching movies on the iPad, and later I plan on doing a little reading. All day I’m wearing my new set of comfy loungewear I picked up at Soma on sale. The storm that blew through yesterday brought cold and blustery winds with it which just makes it a great day to stay inside, wear my bunny slippers and tonight have some homemade chicken noodle soup.

Of course, today’s day off is thanks to a man who will never be forgotten and who made history by advocating for people of color. Although our society still has a long way to g to combat racism, Martin Luther King paved the way for change and I believe he still does.
