Today is the last day of January, and it feels like this month flew by. Still, I was not idle. I have already started one of my New Year’s resolutions: once a month, I am going to pick one of the many websites I have saved and bookmarked over the years, and finally order something from it, either to build a creative skill or just to have a little fun.
For January, I chose the Craft Club website. What pulled me in were their moss latch hook coaster kits, so earlier this month I ordered a couple. They have been a delight. The kits are fun, easy to follow, and surprisingly relaxing to work on. I had never tried latch hook before, and I am happy to report that it is not hard at all.
It has been the kind of project I can pick up for a few minutes at a time, then look down and realize I have made real progress without feeling rushed. I also love that it is practical, because at the end of it, I get something I can actually use. If you have been craving a low-pressure craft that keeps your hands busy and your mind calm, this one is worth trying. Now I am already looking forward to choosing February’s bookmarked site and seeing what new little skill or small joy it brings.
