The company I work for had an employee appreciation event this weekend and it made me happy for a few reasons, first because it was nice to have an activity I could do with my family. Also, we had an opportunity to visit our local zoo which we have not visited in many years.

Although it was really hot, which is not surprising for Florida in June we still had a good time and enjoyed seeing all of the animals, and were impressed with just how much the Zoo has grown over the years.

I remember when I was little and visiting the zoo ad back in those days the zoo was barely a blip on the map, it was tiny and hardly had any animals. They especially did not have as many exotic animals as they have now.

It makes me proud that our zoo was even featured on Nat Geo WILD series Secrets of the Zoo. Secrets of the Zoo can be seen on Disney + or Amazon.
