Being Creative

Making People Smile Is What Made Me Happy.

Saturday’s show was so amazing, not because I sold anything or because I was in my element but because my artwork was appreciated.

All I had wanted when I started this journey into becoming an artist is the validation that what I was completing can be valued by others. That people would see the vision I was trying to portray. I know that validation alone will not bring happiness and I should just know that my work is great without others telling me so but it does bring me joy to see my work bring a smile to someone’s face. That is what made me happy.

Even before the show started we had a steady stream of people stopping by the booth and though not everyone made a purchase I was so thrilled at how many compliments I received for my artwork. One, in particular, was from a fellow artist who loved my composition and use of light.

After an entire day of hearing about how beautiful my work is, how brilliant it is, how eye-catching or enchanting it is I ended up with such a Happy High that I was beaming with pride for the first time ever.

Overall the show was fantastic, the weather was amazing, it was sunny and the air was cool and crisp. It has been over a year since we had been to a Science Fiction convention and did not realize until Saturday how much we missed conventions and can’t wait till the pandemic is over and we can go back.

See below for a few pictures of the show.
