Today, as we took the first steps outside the temperature, was a nice 65 degrees. Living in Florida we relish when the weather starts to turn as Fall is a season we rarely encounter, our trees unlike the ones up north do not change in color but wither with the first cold snap that doesn’t happen until about January.
so we were pleasantly joyful to feel the temperatures start to drop, the humidity not as oppressive and the air smelling crisp and lastly we seem to be getting a reprieve from the never-ending summer storms. We know this won’t last for very long, we will still get some of the summer storms through the end of October and the humidity won’t go away overnight but it seems like between one thing and another we have avoided the bulk of intolerable summer heat.
This kind of weather brings energy and motivation. For folks who don’t live in Florida or in the south, in general, may not understand how debilitating the heat can be, it will quickly drain your energy and leave you feeling like you have no strength or even enough focus to think. This truly is my favorite time of the year.
It’s funny how most people come down to Florida during summer vacations to hit the beach or to go to all of the theme parks but as Floridians, we rarely leave the house during the summer because we know how hot and uncomfortable it is, we love going outside any time between October and May, any of the summer months we avoid.
And in case you were still wondering, yes it’s still hurricane season which lasts until November.
