The snow started coming down at 5 am this morning and slowly picked up in the next couple of hours. As we watched the sunrise while enjoying a cup of coffee we marveled at how white everything was. We didn’t realize just how much it snowed until we made it outside and see the nearby hills covered in about 2 inches.
We spent the rest of the morning touring the Biltmore Estate grounds and taking as many photographs and videos of the beautiful winter wonderland. The snow continued to fall for several hours as we drove up to the Biltmore house seeing the winding drive that leads up to the house looking like Narnia.
Even though it was really cold we found so much joy walking the Biltmore gardens and paths as the snow crunched under our feet. I even built a couple of small snowmen that have probably already melted to nothing. After we got back to the hotel we claimed a spot next to the fireplace in the lobby and spent the early afternoon reading our books and thawing out.
