It’s the Most Nasally Time of the Year…

It’s that dreaded time of year again, pollen season. My husband and I went out walking around the neighborhood earlier today and walked into a wall of that white pollen dander that starts to permeate the air this time of year.

I already know tonight I’m going to need my allergy meds because I’m going to be nasally and sneezy and be miserable.

But at the end of the day it’s just allergies, right? Yes it’s annoying and at times inconvenient but I am still thankful that I am a healthy person. There are so many people out there who are dealing with a lot more than just seasonal allergies. This is why as a society we need to do what we can to protect those who are most vulnerable.

It’s been almost a year since the COVID quarantine started here in Florida and I feel like as a society we could do better to protect others. We need to be the bigger people and wear our masks and wash our hands and understand that even with vaccines this will not go away overnight.

And while we wait for the world to get back to normal other things will always remain the same, with the pollen in the air it means that spring is here. Things will start to grow, the weather will get a little warmer and I will sneeze every so often but I am so grateful to just be here as there are so many that are not.
