Sadness

Corona Virus!

So this has been a weird week. Last week started with work telling me to work remotely until told otherwise. Now, this week Jason will also be working remotely until who knows when. I’m glad about this for two reasons.

First and most important is how we don’t risk bringing home any illnesses to our moms who live with us (one of which has severe COPD) and second we get to spend a lot more time together.

We understand that the seriousness of this illness is not that it can kill us even though it could severely affect those who are elderly and with other underlying conditions. but to ensure that we are not putting a strain on our medical and health facilities who are already straining to stay on top of Covid-19.

I did go to the store, not to hoard but to ensure we had enough groceries for the next few weeks in case we do end up self-isolating for a while and especially if stores close.

So today I’ve been trying to think of ways we can keep ourselves occupied while in self-isolation. Of course, during the day on weekdays, we are still working. for the weekend thankfully we are blessed to have a theater we built many years ago. So movie nights will be a thing. Also, have plenty of board games. I also stocked up on plenty of art and craft supplies to keep the creative juices flowing. Jason, of course, has more than enough to keep himself occupied for a while and we have our nice new office to hang out in. And of course, we are still doing walks around the neighborhood to keep ourselves in shape.

At the end of the day, I know closing and canceling most things will hurt our economy but how much worse would things be if the disease was free to run rampant? Only time will tell,

And lastly, our prayers and thoughts are with all of those who are dealing directly with this illness.

How are all of you keeping busy?
