So last night I watched the most adorable movie I have seen ever, Turning Red.
The film is about a young girl who discovers that when she loses control of her emotion she turns into a giant fluffy red panda, and she has to learn how to stay calm or else risk being discovered.
Essentially the film is about not letting our emotions get out of control or else we risk hurting ourselves and others. But what the film teaches us is that we cannot be robots going through the motions, it’s about learning to channel our emotions in a healthy way. Hiding away or not acknowledging your emotions can also lead to unhealthy consequences.
So as a whole there seems to be many lessons we can learn from the film, although it seems to be a coming of age it also deals with parents who may not have had the best of upbringings. And even if you did have a great upbringing, even if you did not have kids this movie has taught us a very fundamental lesson. It’s ok to become a giant fluffy red panda as long as we do not let it overwhelm us.
If you have Disney + I highly recommend that you head over there real soon and watch Turning Red if anything you will squee over the cuteness overload that is the fluffy red panda.
Of course, now I am here sitting at home hoping someone will produce a movie with a giant fluffy bunny rabbit.
Below is a Facebook post by Amber Lynn Kennison who better explains all the lessons we can learn from this film.
