After a nine and half hour journey, we arrived at our destination to visit the illustrious kingdom of Biltmore in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
It is a refreshing change to be starting the new year with an adventure.
My husband and I always make an annual pilgrimage to the Biltmore but the last time we went was May of 2020 and due to scheduling issues we could not book our room until after the holidays which is why we are here on the first of the year. I still consider this our 2021 Pilgrimage as I know we will be planning our next Biltmore trip in late 2022.
For us there is nothing like the Biltmore at Christmas time, this is where we come to recharge, there is something about the Biltmore that always leaves us feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
As for the estate itself, there is something magical about this place, the views of the blue ridge mountains make me think of the Misty Mountains in the Tolkien world. The Biltmore house itself makes me think of the Last Homely House in Rivendell. I always feel inspired here, this place has a way of letting my imagination run wild.
